Accessibility statement

SubmitBonds is committed to providing a portal that is usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement describes the accessibility features built into the demo and the standards we measure against.

Conformance target

This demo targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The primary public pages (login, public lookup, support, accessibility, and Section 508 statements) and the per-role authenticated dashboards (agent and jail) are verified against the WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria by an automated axe-core scan that runs in continuous integration across the light and dark themes and all three text-size settings, asserting zero Level A or AA violations. Other pages remain under active development and may not yet meet every criterion.

Features in this release

  • "Skip to main content" link on every page, visible on keyboard focus.
  • All interactive controls are operable with keyboard; visible focus rings use a 3:1 contrast accent color.
  • Form fields have programmatic labels and clear error messages.
  • Live regions (aria-live="polite") announce real-time bond events on the sheriff dashboard and forfeiture countdowns.
  • Color is never the sole means of conveying information — status pills use both color and text labels.
  • Touch targets meet a 44 × 44 px minimum on the public lookup, login, and primary action buttons.
  • Spanish (es-US) translation is available on the public lookup for the Miami-Dade pilot profile.
  • Animations respect prefers-reduced-motion.

Known limitations

  • Some legacy admin pages have not yet been retroactively translated.
  • The webcam capture component requires JavaScript and a permission prompt; an upload fallback is provided.
  • PDF documents generated by the FOIA flow may need additional tagging for assistive technology.

Because this is a demo environment, please report accessibility issues by contacting your county pilot coordinator. In a production deployment, a feedback form and email contact will be provided here.
